• That’s how we look…

…this academic year – of course, as a dispersed community we are never all together in the same place, but these photos will give you some idea about who’s been around for the start of the new academic year.

  • What sort of heaven do you imagine?

“That would be my idea of heaven.” I have often heard people make some remark like that after enjoying a particular event, experience or place. One of my own contenders to be considered in the “quarter finals” is an annual event on a Sunday afternoon at the beginning of September in the valley where theIBTS campus is currently situated. Thanks to the benevolence of Prague 6, the local authority of this part of Prague, the Czech National Opera and orchestra perform a classic Czech opera in our ŠárkaValley. This year saw thousands of people sat in the sunshine on the 100th anniversary year of the first such performance. This year…

  • …And it has come, again…

…the new Academic Year, that is! We’re smaller, we do feel to be in a transition, but because of that, it is also exhillarating and exciting (and a bit scary at times!). There are some exciting new developments taking place – info to be released soon, so stay tuned! This week, we have students going through the Critical Thinking, Academic Research and Writing lectures (those of you who have gone through them know what this means!), and by this weekend we are expecting a group of Doctor of Ministry students taking a course in Spiritual Formation next week. There are also doctoral examinations taking place, both real and “mock”, and other…

  • Come to see us in Amsterdam!

Our dear friends, It’s summer time – and IBTS is enjoying what feels like its usual summer mode of reduced numbers, and wonderfully warm community life – with unhurried conversations over coffee, barbeques and so on… But of course we are working hard too, and here’s to let you know of the first event we’re planning, for the next academic year, in Amsterdam. Come and join us! – Lina

  • Festive Days

They certainly were, this past weekend! We had a special event to celebrate the service of Keith and Denise over the last 15 years during which the special issue of Baptistic Theologies, written as a Festschrift to Keith’s contribution to Baptist theology, was launched; a special time to hear Carol Woodfin talking about the history of IBTS published just a few weeks ago; and then a graduation of three Certificate of Applied Theology Students, seven MTh and six Magister students, plus conferring the Certificates of attendance for our two Erasmus exchange students, valedicting a continuing PGCTh student, and generally having a lot of fun! So here are some of the…

  • Look what we’ve got!..

Yes, it’s: – Carol Woodfin’s history of IBTS (and we had a wonderful time today listening to Carol telling us some things about writing this piece of work) – and a special issue of Baptistic Theologies, with articles from a number of authors to celebrate Keith’s amazingly wide contribution to Baptist theology. (If you don’t get Baptistic Theologies but would like to have this issue, let us know!) Right, gotta run – it’s graduation time!.. – Lina
