Theological musings/personal reflections

Quidquid id est, timeo Danaos et dona ferentis.

Do not trust the horse, Trojans. Whatever it is, I fear the Greeks even when they bring gifts.

As well as the Trojan horse another Greek gift, absorbed by much of Christianity, is Greek dualism of body and soul, whereas the Hebrew Scriptures talk about the total human person. So, has the time come to ditch Greek philosophical dualism and work with non-reductive physicalism – more empathetic with the Biblical account and with resurrection faith at the heart of gathering communities? Our colleague, Nancey Murphy, presented a compelling argument in our post graduate seminar this week.
